Dear Members and American-Pakistan community at large,

I hope you and the families are all well.

While the current Board has done its collective best to function as much as it could in the COVID-19 landscape, and indeed hosted several events over the last 6 months, which have been appreciated and applauded both locally by you all as well as in Pakistan, it has also become exceedingly difficult to function effectively as a team without in-person meetings. Zoom has served us well to stay connected but technology has its limits, as we have found out.

Based on Governor Baker's orders on the extension of the State of Emergency and other related pandemic restrictions in effect and after consultations with selected community leaders, we collectively felt it would be in the best interest of everyone that:

1. PAGB activities be placed on a hiatus until such time that conditions improve and in-person meetings and events
are possible.

2. We will, however, hold a General Body Meeting (on Zoom) close to the Republic Day of Pakistan as per the Constitution, specially because it was not held last year due to COVID.  We will discuss membership renewals, collection of membership fees and how Members feel about the way PAGB conducts itself in future. Stay tuned.

3. While we are in hiatus, activities and postings on Zoom, Facebook, WhatsApp and Web will be temporarily suspended. However, all Board members will still be available by email and cell phones.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Stay safe, stay well, stay connected.

On behalf of the PAGB Board,

Siraj Khan
President
